Doctor Robotnik has returned and Mobius is at war! In the old days, there was a close-knit gang of Freedom Fighters but the heroes are scattered now, with a lot of ground to cover.
Tails
Sonic has been defamed and Tails has taken up the mantle of Mobius' hero. After always living in Sonic's shadow, he doesn't always realise that he's a hero in his own right! He and Amy are the longest serving Freedom Fighters.
Amy Rose
Amy likes to wind people up - she once pretended to be Sonic's girlfriend - but when it comes to defending Mobius, you can always rely on her. For years, she's been a leader for Mobius' heroes! She likes to work with her friends but hasn't had much chance lately.
The Ultimax
Software mogul Dexter 'Codex' Bagstille, hyperactive Holly 'Jumpinjax' Thumpfoot, and cultured strongman Theodore Abram 'Theo' Spartacus are the Ultimax! Tails is helping them becoming heroes (even though Dexter pretends they don't need him!).
Big the Cat
A good-natured and dim-witted cat, Big works at the popular Buddy's Bistro restaurant - which is also the site of an underground Freedom Fighter base!
Kintobor
He's the affable artificial intelligence who's been running the Freedom Fighter's computers since the beginning! His intelligence is a recording of Professor Kintobor's brain - the kindly scientist who was turned into Robotnik!
