Hey Boomers!
The sun is out, the day is hot, but the hedgehog is still cool. That’s what Sonic reckons, anyway, and for those humes – and the occasional hard-working droid – it’s high time for a refreshing new issue of STC. Good news then: as well as the conclusion of the latest Sonic adventure, In the Heat of the Night, Amy also springs into action with the first in a new two part story: Impressions! Don’t forget that you can still browse back issues at your leisure, and check out Boomer reaction in Speedlines. Still, it’s often been said that the only problem with STC is that it just doesn’t come often enough. I’ve suggested going weekly to the humes but they threatened to put me in a greenhouse until my circuits melted. Luckily, not all humes are as lazy. In fact, you can now see the work of a couple of the amazing art humes from the old days of STC. Conceived, pencilled and lettered by Roberto Corona and coloured by Nigel Dobbyn, Manuwahi is a must-read. It’s been a while since we’ve had a free gift, so how about one for next issue? I thought you lot would approve! I’ll see you in the Hallowe’en issue where there are plenty of spooky treats and action-packed adventures lined up! In the meantime, enjoy this latest issue and stay cool!The Story So Far…
Sonic’s battle with the terrifying Chaos creature was going badly until Ebony showed up with her friend, Super Sonic. Super had split from Sonic and had become a pacifist, never daring to use the terrible power that the chaos energy bestowed upon him. That all changed when he absorbed Chaos’ energy and reverted to a terrifying monster. Luckily, Ebony was able to merge Sonic and Super again – back to the way it was in the beginning. With Chaos destroyed, Sonic, Porker and Ebony went searching for the Floating Island, which had sunk beneath the sea. With the Floating Island’s shields failing and water leaking into the island, Porker and Ebony sent a small bubble of Chaos Energy; a gift from the Underwater Outpost they had befriended. But now, the energy has brought back two people – the benevolent Tikal, and the terrible demon Super Sonic…Sonic
Sonic is the super-fast hero of Mobius, and leads a gang of freedom fighters. He is totally committed to keeping Planet Mobius and its people safe. When Sonic loses his cool though, he risks turning into Super Sonic.
Super Sonic
Super Sonic was the worst side of Sonic – a wild and destructive creature that emerged when Sonic was stressed or exposed to Chaos energy. When split from Sonic for a period he managed to control his aggression with Ebony’s help and became a pacifist.
Ebony
A cat with magical talent. She became firm friends with Sonic’s alter-ego Super Sonic, and may still believe that the pacifist she befriended is still there deep down beneath Super’s evil exterior.

8000 years ago, the Drakon Empire – a race of fish who used their advanced intelligence to built robotic bodies to function on land – battled Knuckles’ people for the powerful Chaos Emeralds.The Underwater Outpost
This colony of peaceful sea creatures was descended from the Drakon Empire’s outpost on Flickies’ Island eight thousand years ago. Their source of Power is a bubble of pure Chaos energy.Knuckles
When his people left for the stars, Knuckles was left as the sole guardian of the Chaos Emeralds – a power source that in the wrong hands could be used to rule the world. These emeralds kept the Floating Island in the sky – until Chaos stole them, that is!Dr. Ivo Robotnik
A laboratory accident long ago turned the kindly Professor Kintobor into the evil Doctor Robotnik! Once the evil dictator of Planet Mobius, Robotnik more recently went mad and plotted to destroy the world. He is now in an asylum.Tails
Tails is an optimistic young fox who uses his two tails to fly for short periods. He idolises Sonic but has also become a respected hero in his own right – if only Sonic would notice!Amy Rose
Although Amy first met Sonic when she was claiming to be Sonic’s girlfriend, she has since proved a hero in her own right with her trusty crossbow. She has a wicked sense of humour and loves winding Sonic up!Johnny Lightfoot
An even-tempered rabbit that was a fierce freedom fighter with his trusty quarterstaff, Johnny died recently fighting the terrifying Chaos creature.<div class="row comicrow"><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-100.jpg"><img class="comictb" src="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-101tb.jpg" alt=""/></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-101.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-102.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-103.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-104.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-105.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-106.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic1" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-107.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic2" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-201.jpg"><img class="comictb" src="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-201tb.jpg" alt=""/></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic2" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-202.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic2" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-203.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic2" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-204.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <a class="comic2" href="http://www.stconline.co.uk/pages/226-205.jpg"></a><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --></div><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --><script src="http://www.stconline.co.uk/brand/jquery-1.11.3.min.js"></script> <!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --><script src="http://www.stconline.co.uk/brand/jquery.colorbox.js"></script><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --><script><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(document).ready(function(){<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> //Examples of how to assign the Colorbox event to elements<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".comic1").colorbox({rel:'comic1'});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".comic2").colorbox({rel:'comic2'});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".comic3").colorbox({rel:'comic3'});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".comic4").colorbox({rel:'comic4'});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".comic5").colorbox({rel:'comic5'});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".ajax").colorbox();<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".iframe").colorbox({iframe:true, width:"80%", height:"80%"});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".inline").colorbox({inline:true, width:"50%"});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $(".callbacks").colorbox({<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> onOpen:function(){ alert('onOpen: colorbox is about to open'); },<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> onLoad:function(){ alert('onLoad: colorbox has started to load the targeted content'); },<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> onComplete:function(){ alert('onComplete: colorbox has displayed the loaded content'); },<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> onCleanup:function(){ alert('onCleanup: colorbox has begun the close process'); },<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> onClosed:function(){ alert('onClosed: colorbox has completely closed'); }<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> });<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --><!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $('.non-retina').colorbox({rel:'group5', transition:'none'})<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $('.retina').colorbox({rel:'group5', transition:'none', retinaImage:true, retinaUrl:true});<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> <!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> //Example of preserving a JavaScript event for inline calls.<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $("#click").click(function(){ <!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> $('#click').css({"background-color":"#f00", "color":"#fff", "cursor":"inherit"}).text("Open this window again and this message will still be here.");<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> return false;<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> });<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --> });<!-- [et_pb_line_break_holder] --></script>
